Parades

City of Hillsboro Christmas Parade: Join the city of Hillsboro on December 7, 2024, at 6:00 pm for the City of Hillsboro Lighted Christmas Parade. This free community event is a great way to kick off the holiday spirit.

Eagles Christmas Parade in Greenfield: Visit the Village of Greenfield on December 7, 2024, to celebrate the holiday season with the Eagles Christmas Parade. The parade starts at 6:00 pm.

Lynchburg Lighted Christmas Parade: The Lynchburg Lighted Christmas Parade will be held in conjunction with the Annual Lynchburg Village Christmas. Join the Lynchburg, Ohio community on December 13, 2024, in celebrating the holiday season. The parade will start at 6:30 pm.

Mowrystown Christmas Parade: Mowrystown wants to see your Jingle Bell Christmas Parade entry on December 7, 2024. Participants are encouraged to build a float, drive a vehicle, tractor or golf cart, ride a horse, walk a dog, etc. All school groups such as 4-H clubs, fire departments, churches, etc., are encouraged to participate. The parade kicks off at 1:00 pm.


Festivals & Events

City of Hillsboro Uptown Christmas: Join the City of Hillsboro on December 6, 2024, to kick off this holiday season with a Christmas tree lighting, photos with Santa provided by Merchants National Bank, children's Christmas activities, carriage rides, face painting, and more. This event starts at 5:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm.

Leesburg Lions Luminaria: Every December, the Leesburg community lights up the sidewalks with beautiful luminary candles in white paper bags. People gather in Leesburg to see the lights, wander through the businesses' open houses and participate in festive holiday activities. This year the Leesburg Luminaria will take place on December 8, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Greenfield Christkindlmarkt Market: On December 7, 2024, at noon, Greenfield will be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with Christmas music, twinkling lights, and German inspired Christmas market food and beverages for purchase by the Main Street Greenfield organization. This will also include the Annual Cookie Walk in Greenfield.

Annual Lynchburg Village Christmas: The 32nd annual Lynchburg Village Christmas has fun activities for all ages over the period of two whole days. This fun Christmas festival offers a breakfast with Santa, carriage rides, festive music throughout the town, Lynchburg's Lighted Christmas Parade, and much more for you and your family to discover. Visit Lynchburg and enjoy the fun on December 13 and 14, 2024, between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Greenfield’s 18th Annual Christmas Tour of Homes: It is time for Greenfield’s 18th annual Christmas Tour of Homes hosted by the Greenfield Historical Society. The $10 tour will be held from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Photos With Santa at The Highland Humane Society: The Highland Humane Society and Bejeweled Photography are hosting Photos with Santa on December 14, 2023, at 11:00 am to benefit animals in need through the Highland Humane Society. Families, children, and even pets are welcome to attend. After the event you will be emailed a digital copy of your photo. A $10 donation is requested. All proceeds benefit the Highland Humane Society and animals in need. The event is taking place at 9331 State Route 124 in Hillsboro, Ohio.

Hillsboro Uptown December Shop Hop: Ugly Sweater: Join the uptown Hillsboro businesses on December 14, 2024, for an Ugly Sweater Shop Hop. Grab your friends and your best ugly sweater and hit the shops.


Light Displays

City of Hillsboro Tree Lighting: Join The City of Hillsboro on December 6, 2024, to kick off this holiday season with the town's very own Christmas tree lighting. Between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, come check out the other events in the downtown area.

Penelope's Nights of Lights: Be sure to visit Penelope's Nights of Lights, located on 6675 East New Market Road in Hillsboro, for an absolutely free outdoor display of dancing Christmas lights timed to holiday music. Penelope’s Nights of Lights is open every Friday and Saturday between 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm from now until Christmas. Visitors need to tune their car radio to 100.5 FM to enjoy the show. Homemade By Penelope will be open, so stop in and get some Christmas shopping done. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the Christmas lights.

Danville Christmas Lights: Another free light display in Highland County is located at 3908 East Danville Road in Hillsboro, Ohio. Visitors may stop by to admire the lights every day of the week from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm all the way up until December 31. Corresponding music for the show can be found by tuning the radio to 93.1 FM.

Illumination On Main Street: Illumination on Main, located on 600 West Main Street in Hillsboro, is a light show that features two playlists. One will rotate Sunday through Thursday between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm. The entire list will play on Friday and Saturday from 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm. There's plenty of music and a variety to enjoy.
